The month of June

I can't believe June has passed and I haven't posted anything! Here are some pictures to catch everyone up on what has been going on at our house. Over Memorial Day weekend Addison was baptized. We were blessed with a lot of family coming in town for the event and it was great to spend time with everyone. I am not sure what we did in June, but we stayed busy! We just got back from a quick weekend trip to Kansas for the 4th of July. Addison was a great traveler and everything went very smoothly. She is now routinely giving "high 5's" and has started wiping her hands clean and spinning in circles when she hears music! She is walking and climbing everywhere and continues to speak/cry her mind. I can't believe she will be 1 in 2 weeks. The year has been quick but amazing. God has taught me a lot this past year and I am so thankful for this precious gift.

Turtles and Strawberries!

Saturday morning Jeremiah found a turtle in the middle of our road. He brought it home so Addie could see it. She loved it! She followed it around the driveway and tried to converse with her new friend. But, when we tried to feed it a strawberry (they do like these) Addie thought she might want to some too. She took a whole strawberry right out of the container and began to gnaw on it! She made a big mess!

Mother's Day!

My first Mother's Day! Addison has been an "awesome" (meaning of her name) addition to our lives. I didn't know what to expect about motherhood, but you can't describe it. Children are certainly a gift from God and He has truly blessed our lives with our precious daughter. I am so thankful for every moment I spend with her. Jeremiah and I both continue to learn from her daily and are so amuzed by her emerging personality or better stated, attitude. She has become quite outspoken about her feelings and dislikes! She is a little dramatic, which is very entertaining. We're headed to the zoo for the first time today! Jeremiah and I are both excited to see how Addie reacts. She is so nosy and observant that we think she is going to love it. Hopefully I'll get some good pictures to post!

Trip to Cookeville

Jeremiah, Addison, and I drove to Cookeville today to visit Ginny and Max(Addie's Great-Grandparents). We also saw Great Uncle Steve and Avery as well as Sophie, the puppy. Addie loved Sophie and I think Sophie enjoyed Addie despite the tugs, pulls, screams of excitement, and chasing! Sophie just sat and looked at Addie while Addie attempted to reach out with both arms as if to hug her and squeal with delight! Of course we were all entertained by this for quite awhile! Addison also just reached the 9 month mark and we were turned loose to let her try "whatever we eat" according to the doctor and despite the fact she still doesn't have any teeth! (One is breaking through, but not quite there yet!) The doctor said "lasagna, pizza, whatever you're having!" So, today Addie ate grapes, lasagna, and watermelon without any trouble. She is also starting to try to take a few steps. She will stand unassisted and braved a step while at Ginny's, but quickly crashed. I don't think it will be long before she is steadier and going everywhere....I already miss the days she stayed in one place!

First Easter

Addison enjoyed her Easter guests and her Easter basket. Aunt Molly and Gabe came into town to watch Addie for a couple of days and she loved all of the attention she received from them. She quickly learned that everything was about Addie. Grandma Doose made her Easter dress and gave her the flower headbands. They are a little over the top on the girlie side for me, but I think she's pretty cute with them on! Grandma and Grandpa Doose also gave her this cute little bikini which Dad is not so sure about...he feels it's a little revealing as well as he's not sure Addie's belly or thighs fit the bikini mold! Uncle Jason was in town as well and friends Casie and Abbe came over. Addie became fascinated with bubbles and Casie taught her to give "high 5's." Grandma and Grandpa Wakefield and Aunt Ashley were unable to make it on Easter, but we celebrated with them later in the week. I have a cute video of that visit, but unfortunately I am still having technical difficulties loading that onto the blog!
